Volkswagen Rabbit and Jetta to get an extra 20 Bhp power increase.

Volkswagen will increase in 20 Bhp the power of the Rabbit and Jetta powered by the 2.5 Inline-5 20V engine.

5-door Hatchback with 170 Bhp, 177 ft-Ib of torque, nicely made interior and 6-speed Automatic Tiptronic gearbox for 16K.

If I lived in America, I would definitely have a Volkswagen Rabbit.

Very good move from VW considering what the competition is doing.

Nice, I always thought that 2.5 needed a little boosting.

Question Re: Volkswagen Rabbit and Jetta to get an extra 20 Bhp power increase.

This engine should have came with at least 175hp to begin with.

What I really want to know, is why Volkswagen went to the trouble of creating a normally aspirated 2.5 5-cylinder 20V engine based on half of the Gallardo's 5.0 V10 40V engine, when they could just have fitted their own well-proven 1.8 Turbo 4-Cylinder 20V engine?

Hmm...why?

I think, generally speaking, in the US bigger engine displacement = better perception of the car. Correct me if I'm wrong.
