Re: French GP

The race was okay, Siko. Like you, I live in Canada and I barely caught the start of the race.

Ferrari had a golden opportunity. Massa nearly came together with Alonso at the first corner. If Massa wants a job next year, he should've taken Alonso out of the race! I don't see how it could be ruled as anything but a racing accident because they were very, very close at the apex of the Turn 1. Now Schu is still down 17 pts and title race is still looking very over!

Blocking is one thing, but that would just be dirty and uncalled for.

Uncalled for? I don't know. . . The pts. system is not doing any favours to Ferrari so maybe it's no uncalled for if they want to win. It's dirty, but it's also a tough sport and not one for happy go lucky fellas.

That's ridiculous. Crashing a competitor out of the race is the same as sabotage and is simply wrong. I think Schumacher has done this enough already. The fact that you're promoting it is sad.

Yeah, he tried running JV out of the race and championship title in Jerez in 1997. Also I think he had a similar clash with Damon Hill in 1993 or 1994?!

Re: French GP

That's why I'm mentioning it, siko. Schu, Senna and a bunch of greats have done this sort of thing. I don't think I'm really promoting it, just mentioning that it is something that is done and could easily be done again. The Ferrari bosses aren't happy with Massa. He won't have a seat next year unless he contributes. I leave it to you to define what contribute would mean. But at this rate, Schu will not win the World Championship with Alonso finishing second all the time as he does.

Under the old 10-6-4-3-2-1 scoring system, Alonso has 86 I believe and Schu 67 so Schu is currently getting a benefit from it. However, my problem is that there is only a 2 pt. gap from 1st and 2nd. If Schu continues to win and Alonso finishes 2nd, under the old pts. system he would be able to creep back to Fernando in 5 races. Like I said, Schu or any other driver can't get that close under this current scoring method unless a race is added so Renault can race for 2nd and reliability.

I have nothing against Alonso. I like him. He is a classy guy and a great driver. I rate him much higher than Kimi, but I just don't agree with how scoring is done in F1 and World Rally today. Why 8 for finishing second when the object of motor racing is to win?

Initially in F1 the gap between the first and second place was to 2 points, 8-6
i think.
Anyway the point was that with Schumi winning so mant races FIA had to do something.
Thus the the new point system.

Re: French GP

Also didn't expected Ferrari to win.
Hope the new evolution of the Renaults put Alonso in the first place again.
Anyway Alonso has almost won its 2 championship.
Even if Schumi wins the next 8 races and Alonso places second, Alonso will still have a 1 point advantage.
