Villeneuve not a big fan of Nürburgring

Quote:
Jacques Villeneuve should have positive feelings looking ahead to the European Grand Prix, held next weekend at the Nurburgring. The Canadian scored his first Formula 1 victory at the Nurburgring in his debut year 1996, only his fourth race in F1.

But although he claimed his first victory at the legendary track in Germany it's not all but positive for Villeneuve. "The Nürburgring is not one of my favourite tracks, although in the past I have done well there: I won my first and my last grand prix there in 1996 and 1997," he said. "Last year the European Grand Prix was one of the most difficult races of the season. Since they put the new layout in the first part of the circuit, I really don't like the Nürburgring any more, so it is probably my least favourite Formula One track.

"Still, I hope we can get some good results there especially as the race is in Germany, and for BMW that makes it important. I have always wished we could race on the Nordschleife. I have not had a chance to go round it yet, but that really would be mega."
I generally do not like Villeneuve to say the least, but I thought his comment about racing on the Nordschleife was pretty cool.

This won't happen, these circits in their glory days were death traps.
Once upon of time F1 would claim the life of 4 pilots a season.
So It just won't happen.
At least these circuits are still alive as opossed to the great enurance races like Migle Millia, Targa Florio and Carerra Panamericana.

It would be cool if the nordschleife was a race circuit but it's very dangerous!

Lets hope BMW do well at the Nurburgring, considering they didn't score any points last race!
