Re: Raikkonen: I'll show my true pace in Spain

Even Massa's car broke down in Australia. And Schumacher's car broke too last year. Since that they have not been undestroyable.

Re: Raikkonen: I'll show my true pace in Spain

... and Massa also suffered engine failure at the 2006 China GP and Schumacher also had technical problems in the qualifications of the Brazilian GP witch partially compromissed his race.

This is why Ferrari lost the WCC last year to Renault, they had 3 consecutive technical problems/failures in the last 3 GPs.

Re: Raikkonen: I'll show my true pace in Spain

Gone are the days when Ferrari was known for its bullet-proof reliability.
Two problems out of 4 races- not good, are we missing Ross Brawn??

I think Kimi is cursed. No matter where he goes, problems follow.

It was the same thing with Häkkinen back in the day. He was accused of blowing up his engines etc. too, but eventually his luck turned (for a few seasons anyway).

Agreed. I'll never forget when he retired from 1st position in the very last lap of the Euro GP because of wheel problems.

Yeah...that's something I will never forget. That shows you how serious he is about racing. A few more mm and we would've had another Senna incident.

Stewart questions Kimi`s commitment
Tuesday 15th May 2007

Sir Jackie Stewart has questions Kimi Raikkonen's commitment after the Finn stormed away from the Barcelona circuit following his retirement on Sunday.

Raikkonen failed to see the checkered flag in Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix after an electrical problem forced him to park his car.

However, rather than stay behind to watch team-mate Felipe Massa's victory, Raikkonen was reportedly on his way to the airport less than half an hour after retiring from the race.

The Finn's actions have - not for the first time - raised doubts about his commitment to Formula One, with Stewart claiming that Raikkonen isn't willing to make the sacrifices needed to become a World Champion.

"It is an attitude, a mentality, a way of doing business. Our lifestyle, mind, make-up was different from a Raikkonen - or for that matter a Jenson Button," the former World Champion told the Daily Express.

"There are other things in Raikkonen's life he still wishes to carry on doing.

"He doesn't seem prepared to make the sacrifice of reducing the lifestyle he has chosen because he enjoys it. He is not prepared to compromise.

"That is why Hamilton has the opportunity to be dominant over time and Raikkonen doesn't, unless something substantial changes."

Re: Raikkonen: I'll show my true pace in Spain

As much as I respect Stewart...there is no one who has the right to judge another based solely on hearsay.

"he is not commiteded because I heard he left the race right after he came back to the pits"...if anyone else but Stewart said that people would be like WT-F? but since it's stewart, everything is peachy? That's just idiotic.

This just goes back to the whole Brits are different people than Fins...so please don't try to understand another guy's state of mind after a HUGE dissapointment.

Why should Kimi stay after retiring only 7-8 laps into the race? (don't know the exact number) Sure they're on the same team but this aint teamwork. Massa is Kimi's rival, not his best friend.

Would you stay and watch your rival win after a huge dissapointment on your part? I would've left too. There is no point in staying.

Its not just that though is it. Kimi seems to be a bit of a moody guy, and a guy who enjoys a drink and partying. This doesnt tie in well with the formula 1 life.
