Fri 20 Apr, 12:51 PM Bridgestone has confirmed the tyre specifications for the Canadian, USA, French and British grand's prix - round's six, seven, eight and nine in the 2007 FIA Formula One World Championship. A statement from the Japanese manufacturer revealed that in - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER competitors will be able to use the 'Super Soft' and 'Soft' compounds, while in Canada and France they will get the 'Soft' and 'Medium' options. At - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER the Medium and Hard tyres will available. Asked to clarify why Bridgestone is only announce the tyre specifications in 'groups' and not all at once, Bridgestone's head of track engineering operations, Kees van de Grint explained that the decisions had been made after feedback from the opening three grand's prix. "It is important that we constantly evaluate the performance of the tyres and how well the teams are adapting to them. Our aim is to ensure that the tyres are the correct choice both in terms of safety and also suitability for each track," he noted. "During the pre-season tests we were able to confirm the specs for the first five races and subsequent feedback from the first three of those races has now been taken into account regarding the choice for the next four rounds of the season. "Announcing the choices now will enable the teams to start thinking about their tyre strategies for the coming races." For the record, for the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER in three weeks time, the next round in the championship, the 'Medium' and 'Hard' compounds will be provided, while at Monte Carlo drivers will be able to use the 'Super Soft' and 'Soft' tyres. At all of the events, under the Sporting Regulations for 2007, the softer of the two specifications can be identified by a white line in the base of the second from inside groove. |
