| Re: Bahrain GP Davidson has done an amazing job for Super Aguri! I wonder what Honda thinks about this, they should take some design clues off their old car. The 2 BMWs are doing very well, I hope they get on top of their reliabilty problems soon, and if they do that, they should be able to come third in the constuctors, easy. Hamilton is doing amazingly well, Alonso must wish he didn't have such a strong team mate, but now Mclaren on drivers is right up there with Ferrari, if not better. The Ferraris have lost the pace they had in oz, but I still want them to win! |

| Re: Bahrain GP Felipe Massa maintained his control of qualifying in Bahrain to take pole position for the second race in a row and the fifth time in his career. Rookie sensation Lewis Hamilton again ran the Ferrari man closest and will start from the front row for the first time after a superb performance through all three segments of qualifying. Their respective team-mates, Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso, will share the second row, setting up another tantalising Ferrari v McLaren shootout for victory. BMW Sauber annexed the third row with Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica, confirming its status as the third quickest team in F1 at the moment. Qualifying 2 Felipe Massa tightened his grip on qualifying in Bahrain by topping the second knockout session by a commanding 0.4s margin. Lewis Hamilton was again the Brazilian's closest challenger, but the size of the deficit suggests the rookie will have an uphill struggle to snatch his first career pole. Kimi Raikkonen was third quickest in the second Ferrari; having outpaced his team-mate earlier in the weekend, the question is whether the Finn has a surprise up his sleeve for Q3. Nick Heidfeld continued his fine form for BMW Sauber, this time pushing Fernando Alonso's McLaren back to fifth place. Robert Kubica was sixth fastest in the other BMW, while Jarno Trulli continued to exceed expectations in seventh. Nico Rosberg (Williams) and Giancarlo Fisichella (Renault) just squeaked through to the top-10 shootout, but their respective team-mates failed to make the cut, as did both the Hondas. Anthony Davidson was quicker than both factory Hondas in the Super Aguri but couldn't find enough to make it past the Q2 hurdle. Drivers knocked out: Alex Wurz, Heikki Kovalainen, Anthony Davidson, Ralf Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello, Jenson Button Qualifying 1 Ferrari's Felipe Massa landed the first blow in qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix, edging out McLaren rival Lewis Hamilton for the fastest Q1 time. Impressively, Massa set his time of 1m32.443s on the harder of the two Bridgestone tyre compounds, while Hamilton relied on the softer tyre for a 1m32.580s. The Briton's lap was far from perfect, however, as he survived a big brake-locking moment at the first corner. Fernando Alonso was third quickest in the sister McLaren, with Kimi Raikkonen fourth for Ferrari. Nick Heidfeld was fifth for BMW Sauber ahead of Toyota's Jarno Trulli and an inspired Anthony Davidson, who used soft-compound tyres to haul his Super Aguri to the top of the times early in the session. David Coulthard fell victim to a gearbox problem and failed to make it through to Q2, while Jenson Button survived by the skin of his teeth in P16. | Re: Bahrain GP It is rumoured that BMW Sauber is willing to exchange N. Heidfeld for R. Shumacher in a middle of season 2007.  I dont think it's a good idea.  |
