Eligibility

In order to be eligible to own rose tinted spectacles, you must be over the age of 30. However, in F1 circles, ownership may be gained by owning more than two dusty VHS tapes of late 1980's Grands Prix.

Uses

Rose tinted spectacles are used to decry modern advancements.

In the F1 world, any change made to a track or change of ownership of a team can elicit use of rose tinted headwear. Reasons behind their use revolve around the golden rules of the rose tint. Namely:

* Hermann Tilke is evil.
* Slick tyres look nice.
* In the mid 1980's F1 races were thrilling, swashbuckling affairs where cars overtook at least 14 times a lap. The first F1 race where overtaking was not a major occurence was in 1998.
* Teams that rarely threaten to score points, advance a drivers career or indeed do anything are FAR more desirable than big money manufacturers and sponsors with stable driver development programmes.
* The word "aerodynamics" was invented in 1996 by someone evil.
* Despite having made F1 a multi million pound sporting franchise, Bernie Ecclestone has absolutely no interest in what is best for F1.
* Despite running F1 for years and standing to lose out horribly if bad decisions are made, the FIA have absolutely no interest in what is best for F1.
* Murray Walker never got anything wrong. And if he did, people laughed and bought him a drink, instead of shouting angrily at the TV.

Adherance to these rules is a must if you wish to retain ownership of your rose tinted glasses.

* "What have they done this time?!" - Say exasperatedly when a track owner slightly modifies a corner to improve the flow of the lap/assist spectator viewing/improve safety.
