Fiat 500: Leaked!

Some leaked photo's from a Powerpoint presentation.
Only a few months away and then the new Fiat 500 will be introduced and will most probably replace the existing Fiat Cinquecento.
Just like the Mini the new Fiat 500 will appearantly be a lifestyle product.

Re: Fiat 500: Leaked!

LOL, this car really tries to be a Mini.... but fails everywhere.

Big thumbs down here. Ulgy and disproportioned

I think that car is trying to look like the Micra.

Re: Fiat 500: Leaked!

The deisgn is OK, if you ask me, and Luwalira, you're right the rear especially looks like a micra.

I do beleive though, that a lot of the features it has like the different choice, stickers on the interior, colored mats, key styles, drawing on the dash, and other stuff, are neat ideas and will find themselves in other cars.

Re: Fiat 500: Leaked!

I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. The rear does indeed look like the Micra's... Nevertheless, this car will sell, as long as it's cheap enough.

It's OK. Not bad but not good either.

Re: Fiat 500: Leaked!

You guys remember when the iMac became an overnight sensation in the late 90s? The multicolored clear plastic motif became all the rage - shortly thereafter several other computer makers "me too'ed" and copied the style, as if to say "Hey guys! We're young and hip too. See?"

The problem with Fiat, is that there's nothing young or hip about the brand in the slightest. This car feels like a day late, buck short attempt to glom-on to the success of the New Beetle and Mini Cooper.

Accessorizing and "individualization" has been a strong undercurrent in car-land recently, especially when it comes to anything that's supposedly youth market. Problem is, you put the cart in front of the horse when you're punting for a brand and a car that nobody loves to begin with.

This car would have been an also-ran 4 years ago.

Re: Fiat 500: Leaked!

This car (if marketed right) will sure be a real hit in Europe. Especially in Italy.

A competition to MINI, VW Beetle & rumoured upcoming Citroen CV2.

I hope car is well engineered. I can see many girls behind the wheel of this car.

But ...

MINI has one big advantage: its a special independent brand, not just a retro model in a VW, Fiat or Citroen model line. MINI has special & independent showrooms. Mini is a brand, Mini is a lifestyle. While Beetle, F500, upcoming CV2 are just funky lifestyle retro cars in a manufacturer's model line.

I can see Scion by Toyota one and only true MINI's comomeptition in the future (when & if Scion goes global & evolves in special funky cars like xB).

I like it. "Fičo" is back!

Zastava 850 - aka Fičo /fee:cho/ (basicly a Fiat 500, but manufactured by Zastava) was a cult car in former Yugoslavia in the past. I'm sure nostalgia will help this car to sell well in ex-Yugo countries as well.

Re: Fiat 500: Leaked!

It's just what i expected and i like it! I only hope that FIAT will promote/market it the right way.

Hell, it can't be exactly what the first FIAT 500 was at that time, but putting it into the market the right way will make it a success as Eni also said!

Lifestyle product is the keyword. There are many other cars that play the role of the cheap city car. If you want to sell, then you have to sell something different, and if it is cheap, then you got it!

BTW, it has many interesting and nice design clues!
