Jaguar XF: S-Type replacement gets new name

Jaguar XF: S-Type replacement gets new name

The next-generation Jaguar S-Type won't be an S-Type at all. Rather, it will be badged "XF," according to Jaguar chief Bibiana Boerio. Ms. Boerio told the U.K.'s Autocar the XF will "challenge people to think again about Jaguar as daring and different."

The new name creates a sense of consistency throughout the Jaguar lineup, with the XJ and XK already sharing a naming scheme. As previously reported, the XF will be constructed of steel, rather than aluminum. The decision was made in order to bring the XF to market more quickly.

to tell you the truth, if the plastics of the car where a "click" better, it would be simply the best (apart from the driving dynamics that i have no idea about) since it has a great interior and exterior design and tons of style and prestige, or at least here. Every one and his mother can nowadays have a german car, but who chooses a Jag?

I know what you mean... but sales for this model are disastrous.
