"This car is truly a piece of British sports car history, considered by all as the ultimate TVR, and considered by some at the ultimate hyper-car.

Producing circa 850bhp through a 7.7 litre V12, the cars' acceleration defies belief; especially, as it weighs-in at less than 1000kg.

TVR built just 5 Cerbera Speed 12's - four were racing cars and one was a road car. The car was designed to not only race in the British GT championship of the late 1990's but also to compete directly with the definitive hyper-car of the time - the McLaren F1 road car. The then owner of TVR and mastermind of the project, Peter Wheeler, realised that to improve upon the performance of the F1 the car would have to be both lighter and more powerful - this they succeeded in achieving by designing the monster that we have today. Sadly, after careful consideration TVR dropped the concept, as it was considered that the car was just too powerful and dangerously fast to be sold to the general public and retracted the many orders that had already been received. The four race cars had their time and there the story ended.

In September 2003, however, the road car was bought by myself in non-running form. Two years have been spent with my race engineers and TVR recreating the legend by totally rebuilding the car and the engine, utilising the latest technology and design ("bucket-head"), installing a brand new Hollinger 6-speed sequential gearbox and utilising the last iteration of the GT cars carbon fibre bodywork to create a monster that turns heads, even in the most elite of company.

This was first evident when Sony/Polyphony insisted that the car be shown at the UK launch of their flagship Playstation game Gran Tourismo 4 in Soho March, 2004 particularly as the Speed 12 was the ultimate "bag" in the game. In a line-up of McClaren Mercedes, Le Mans Bentley's / Jaguar's etc. the car gathered crowds of those who knew what it was and those who where just in awe of it's brutal looks, either way it " - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER". The Speed 12 driving into the event through central London, made the ITN National News.

It was later featured in - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER, who had tested it at Silverstone with their experienced driver John Barker. Barker described the car as "sitting in the cockpit of a WW2 Spitfire" which was a testimony to the car's sound and feel and went on to say "the sound is HUGE and absolutely glorious, like an Italian V12 but one fuelled with broken glass and 100 octane anger". I guess the fact that he scored it at 11.5 out of 5 suggests that he enjoyed the experience. The car was finally finished to the satisfaction of TVR and myself in February 2006 with a "handover" shakedown test at - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER. Subsequent to this, my race engineers have found even greater weight savings by fabricating much of the suspension related parts in titanium, fitting the latest specification of AP brakes, etc.

It's last appearance was the annual TVR "Back Home" event held in Blackpool, in July. 10,000 people watched the car doing what it does best, snarling its way down the promenade at 180+ miles per hour in a controlled half mile stretch.

As a piece of history, or as wolf in wolf's clothing, it is unlikely that there will ever be another car built like this. It is a pure thoroughbred British Bulldog, which, whether sitting in a collection or used out on the track/international events, it will just make you smile.
