  | Chop-top 407 concept for Geneva   This bizarre creation is the Heuillez Macarena, effectively a folding hardtop cabrio version of Peugeot’s 407. The French coachbuilding and engineering firm, which designed Peugeot’s 206CC road model, has developed the folding hardtop for larger saloons and built the Macarena as a demonstration model. It is scheduled to be officially released at the Geneva motor show in March. Apart from the novel roof mechanism – which folds away in around half a minute – the show car features LCD screens for the rear passengers and what amounts to a crossmember between the two B-pillars. The latter is presumably fitted to aid rigidity. Heuillez claims that it is in discussions with several manufacturers about using the system in production models. Source = Autocar |
