| Maserati Gransport vs. GranTurismo. Your pick? The Gransport's the latest version of Maserati's old coupé. It came first from the 3200GT and then to the 4200GT. With each version the coupés got better in handling, build quality and reliability. In 2007, Maserati finally released the successor to the Gransport - the GranTurismo, sporting the same engine (albeit tuned for more power) and new looks from design house, Pininfarina. The Gransport in contrast was designed by Guigiaro. A few weeks after the release of the new GranT, which one do you guys prefer? | Re: Maserati Gransport vs. GranTurismo. Your pick? A lot of people who own Gransports now don't like the new look at all. They don't like the 'Japanese-looking' lights, the rather awkward rear lights and the 'sharp' edges of the interior. Personally, over time I've grown to love the Gransport. The first time I saw it, I thought that it was a real pity it lost the boomerang rear lights, as that was one of the defining features of the car. But as I see more and more of the redesigned lights I found it rather appropriate for the car. The boomerang lights were a little too futuristic for this type of emotive car. Then, I went on to admire the good proportions of the car. The rear hunch really defines the coupé look and the Gransport really perfected the look with its rims, mesh grille and chiselled looks. At first I saw the GranT, I was underwhelmed. I didn't like it at all, I felt it had no emotion. But it grew on me. I now think it's a worthy successor to the Gransport. It had a modern look that the Gransport couldn't replicate. But I think the Gransport's interior, while messy, had more emotion. Anyway, I chose the GranT. ![]() |

| Re: Maserati Gransport vs. GranTurismo. Your pick? I prefer the GranTurismo, the old model still looks good, but parts such as the door handles are starting to look dated, so it's time for the new model! Just from the photos, the GranTurismo looks very good, and the interior looks awesome! |

Somehow, from the pictures, the GranT's interior looks a little mass-manufactured to me... Quote:
