| ![]() Ford has given its Focus range a mid-life boost with some changes to the exterior, interior and specification levels. The Focus was introduced into the market in 2005. Interior changes include a change in the foil design of the centre stack and the addition of cruise control as a standard feature on all 2-litre derivatives. In an attempt to further enhance the safety profile of the car, with the exception of the Focus 1.6 Ambiente, Ford will now offer all Focus models with curtain airbags as an optional extra. All models already feature ABS brakes with EBD, and dual front airbags as standard equipment. Side airbags are also a standard feature on all but the Focus Ambiente variants. Subtle design enhancements to the exterior styling give the Focus a fresh appearance. The front bumper is new, while the rear bumper now sports a painted lower section. Indicator repeaters mounted on the side mirrors not only add to the aesthetic appeal of the vehicle but are also a valuable safety feature. Already available with a wide range of colour choices the Focus now offers an additional three metallic body colour options, namely: Tonic, Ocean and Plum Blush. A new range of wheel designs complete the look with three variations to choose from. Sports derivatives get a special kit, which includes side sill extensions, 17-inch alloy wheels, branded footwell carpets and branded sill protectors. Service intervals are 20 000 km for the petrol models and 15 000 km for the diesel derivatives. A five-year / 60 000 km Ford Protect Maintenance Plan is standard on all models, as is a three-year/unlimited kilometers roadside assistance plan. The warranty is applicable for three years / 100 000 km, while the corrosion warranty is in place for five years/unlimited kilometers. | Re: Fresh Ford Focus breaks cover Not bad but more is needed to be done. Good car but boring design, Here in Australia the Mazda 3 outsells the Focus by 300 cars per month, even though they are sharing the same hardware. |

| Re: Fresh Ford Focus breaks cover It is fun to drive and it has good ratings - overall it does the job better than most cars in its class. I fail to see what is so "crappy" about the Ford Focus, but, each to their own. ![]() |

| Re: Fresh Ford Focus breaks cover I agree. The Focus is a fun car to drive, especially if you look at the price tag. Sure the interior and the exterior doesn't make you blush but the Focus is a typical "good buy", goes the job, offer decent design and build quality. It simply offers good value and I could very much see myself driving a blue Focus ST. |
