"On 11 May 2007, Trans Eurokars welcomed a new era of automotive design when they hosted more than 150 guests from Standard Chartered Priority Banking and Saab enthusiasts to a private preview of the Saab Aero X concept.

The event was attended by Mr Alex Daniel, Chief Exterior Designer of the Aero X concept, who flew in specially to grace the event. Winner of the “Concept of the Year Award 2006” by UK's Autocar, the dynamic two seater coupe was unveiled at the Saab Leng Kee showroom.

Featuring ice sculptures, a winter white theme and a Saab ice bar, guests were welcomed into a world steeped in Scandinavian heritage.
From the specially-catered Swedish menu, to the emotional Saab video trailer “The Journey”, guests were invited to experience the Scandinavian ingenuity that has come to be expected from Saab.

The festivities kicked off with a welcome address by Ms Ong Lay Ling, Managing Director of Trans Eurokars, followed by a trailer with a sneak preview of the Aero X, which showcased the inspiration and driving force behind the singular concept car. Following the trailer, the room darkened for the highlight of the evening – the arrival of the Saab Aero X concept!



Modern dancer in white opened the sleek sliding doors, and the smoke parted to reveal the headlights of the stunning concept car. Finally, the jet-aircraft inspired cockpit canopy doors of the Aero X lifted to reveal the man behind its award-winning design, Mr Alex Daniel.

After a brief presentation featuring the designer’s concepts and inspirations, guests were then invited to acquaint themselves with the progressive Saab Aero X concept.



Harnessing the power of Saab’s aviation and Scandinavian roots, the Saab Aero X concept makes a ground-breaking statement in performance car design.

From its twin-turbo, BioPower V6 engine fueled entirely by “green” bioethanol, to its glass-like acrylic 'clear zones' which
displays data in graphic 3-D images, guests at Saab Aero X preview event lay witness to the enhanced design language that will inspire future Saab products."

I saw the car in the Sydney motor show, loved it to bits, spent about 20 min just looking at it.
