I bet BMW are erning a lot of money on those sportpackage to their cars. Almost Every 5er E39 I see has a sportpackage.

yep its gr8..and mb are also doing the same..the latest car make a whole diffrent impression with the AMG package.. and its a expensive option..

I seen some cars driven around the Javit's Center the other day when I stopped by (Audi Q7, a Maserati, a Chrysler Crossfire and a couple of others), but no E-Class.
That E63 and E550 were in the Times Square area goind down Broadway. I'm sure some tourists seen it an probably took pics if they weren't gazing at the big screens in the area

. The rest are taking in downtown Brooklyn (the great Brooklyn Bridge is in the background

)

As for those manufacturer's license plates, all the MB's I've seen recently have them some reason. I've seen a couple of W221's and a MM 62 with those MFR plates before (yes, with IL not NJ).

Going to the show tomorrow to see this beast in person

I love this car, would love to drive it. At the end of the day, it's the M5 that does it for me.

just made a very odd observation..take a VERY close look at the drivers seat cushion on the left side and check out the stress marks on the leather...

To be honest, I like the E55 a lot better. I always liked the supercharger, and the way it looks. And finally, I liked it when the three-pointed-star rose out of the grille, not when it's just pearched willy-nilly on the hood.

Finally, does anybody know what it says on it's front quarterpanel?

Thats very normal with Hi quality leathers. Believe me! Everything I have is leather. This is just how it wears.

Did the E55 have the star on the grill?! I never noticed that.

The E55 never had a star in the grille, that is reserved for the "Coupe" models CLK/CL/SL/SLK/CLS and the SUV models.
