Re: E63 ///amg

Rev counter is far too small to do justice to such a charismatic engine. It really is quite insignificant. Who needs a full analogue clock in the instrument binnacle these days?

I`ll agree with you about the clock but the instrument cluster I believe uses
the same dial size as the IWC CLS55. Here is an image of the IWC CLS55`s
cluster.

Re: E63 ///amg

I just found out that the CLK63 uses ABC suspension. If the CLK63 uses it I`m sure the E63 will use it to! The E63 better be a killer track car!

The AMG sports suspension based on the semi-active air suspension system AIRMATIC DC includes the Adaptive Damping System ADS II and allows the driver to choose between more comfortable or very sporty handling characteristics. The shock absorbers and springs instantly adapt to the current driving situation, but can also be manually modified in three stages at the touch of a button.

I wonder why MB would equip the CLK63 with ABC when the CLK is a lower class model. That just doesn`t make since. ABC is a faster reacting better performing suspension than Airmatic.

Car&Driver says the CLK63 and CLS63 uses AirmaticII but the AMG website
says the CLK63 is equiped ABC. I know this is not the E63. Someone is giving the wrong info.

Question Re: E63 ///amg

notice that the clk63's the ABC and is a lot cheaper than cls63 which has'nt ABC too....

I think it's an error....

Quote:
The high-performance engine of the new CLS 63 AMG is partnered by the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC transmission, which offers the driver a choice between fully automatic and manual shifting, with changes actuated either at the selector lever or Formula 1 style, by a press of the aluminium gearshift paddles. Appropriately, the powerful engine is also mated with the new AMG sports suspension, based on the semiactive air suspension system AIRMATIC DC which incorporates the ADS II Adaptive Damping System, and with the new AMG high-performance brake system, which provides plenty of stopping power thanks to composite front brakes and vented and perforated brake discs on all wheels.

only the future will tell us the truth....

edit : ehehe you were faster gta!

The adaptive nature of this suspension has been a feature of airmatic from its introduction in the S-class in 1999 no? Then the E's airmatic in 2002 added adaptive dampening as well, and now this is just a 3rd generation that probably opperates a lot more efficiently etc (hence the ADS II). So in actual fact airmatic has had adaptive dampening for a long long time.

Well that's my understanding. Anyone please correct me if I am wrong.
