Liberal Bias In The Media? If you've watched, listened to or read any American media you have undoubtedly heard people complaining about the "liberal media." What do you guys think? Is it really there? and is it as bad as conservative blowhards like Bill O'Reilly make it out to be? Personally, I think it is way overblown. All the big national news organizations are run by big corporations, which traditionally back conservative values. Sure certain anchors might have a liberal bias, but they are still muzzeled to ensure they don't offend their advitisors and corporate backers. For example; CNN and Wolf Blitzer were running a piece criticizing Michael Moore's film Sicko, and immeadiatley after, as Moore pointed out, the first commercial after that segment was for a big pharmacutical corporation promoting some drug. I think the best place to get news is from Public Broadcasting, such as NPR and PBS etc... That way you can be sure none of them are pandering to sponsors, advitisers, and corporations.

Re: Liberal Bias In The Media? Even if there is a bias, the question is, is it liberal bias or educated bias? You can't expect educated people in the media (or elsewhere) to share the opinion of a redneck or evangelist who believes the universe is only 5000 years old. Just cause there are 2 sides to a story doesn't mean both sides are equally valid. Just cause there is a sizable number of morons who believe in creationism doesn't mean media should treat Darwinism and Creationism on equal footing.

Re: Liberal Bias In The Media? Watching Bill O'Reilly today, a study found FoxNews as the most balanced channel. Someone from NBC came out and said the channel is backing Obama

Re: Liberal Bias In The Media? Well I must admit I do find it somewhat amusing when very opinionated left-wingers on some news channels criticize Fox News for being right-wing. I think the days when the Media was "impartial" are probably over -- even news readers often make their personal political views known by making some little remark after reading a story.
