| Re: Bin Laden Speech I think Osama Bin Ladin is extremely clever, a master manipulator. The strong anti-Bush feeling throughout the western world has played right into Bin Ladin's hands. His example of Sweden is also brilliant -- but essentially he is saying that if you don't stand up to me, I will not harm you -- lie down and do nothing like Sweden, Canada, New Zealand, etc., let us do what we want, and we will not attack you. I'm sure Hitler would have much preferred to be left alone to do what he wanted also. Lets not forget that Bin Ladin was threatening the USA long before Bush came along with his "War On Terror" and the Iraq war -- something millions of Americans and other westerners seem to have forgotten. The War on Terror will not end when Bush is out of office -- and neither will terrorist attacks in Western cities -- I guarantee that. Also, Bin Ladin talks about Palestine and Lebanon -- he doesn't care about the people of these countries at all -- they are just a convenient excuse for him. The Israeli's do not hate the Lebanese people, it is Hizbullah they have the problem with -- and that is an organization that would like impose ultra-conservative Shi'a beliefs throughout the Middle East without any debate or discussion -- too bad if you are Sunni. But I must say, Bin Ladin makes the US look very ignorant -- he is a very clever man. Last edited by Hypersonic; 09-07-2007 at 11:47 PM. |

| Re: Bin Laden Speech I think the new message from Bin Laden proves nothing and, to me, does not make a difference. I think what he did was wrong and his reasoning is flawed. I think that if he got the feeling you were the least bit from a western country he would kill you. I think Bin Laden could gain more crediblity if he was rationale and more in tune with proposing good deals rather than flawed ones. Quote:
Oh, and I think terrorists are nothing but a product of the US itself. We created them essentially. Betrayed them, befriended them and did pretty much about everything to assist them at times. Does this mean it was right what they did, have done, and plan on doing? Absolutely not. I don't agree with killing people nor declaring war on someone. We should be able to talk things out. Unfortunately the Islamic fundamentalist give a really bad name to the Islamic religion, hence why so many ignorant Americans associate Islam with terrorism. Just a shame... | |

| Re: Bin Laden Speech Wow what a speech! Probably the most positive events which have happened in the ages of this terror vs USA dispute. Very interesting and good points brought up in this thread. IMO this is like a 50 years old family feud between two Italian families. Violence will not end this war, violence will only feed to the anger and rage. Essentially this isn't about terrorists or the western world, but about people and their wrong doings. In this case both parties are equally as guilty. The only solution is to sit down, discuss, negotiate, forgive, forget and move on. This message by Usama is definitely a BIG step in the right direction. The ball is really in Bush's hands now. Will he act like a humble human or will be act like a patriotic American president? |
