There are programs available to recover data ...but I am not sure which one is best. It would be worth consulting a professional for this one notic. Also, you should consider buying another drive for backing up files ...an external USB drive is a great way to do it. This one from LaCie is pretty cool -- 120GB with Encryption and a fingerprint recognition security. ![]() ![]() This is what I am going to get. Ultra portable, very thin, with 100GB capacity. ![]() Other than that, you could save your images on CD-ROM or DVD-ROM |

What usually happens during power outages is the Windows boot sector gets corrupted. But that only prevents you from booting, it doesn’t mean that the rest of your files are corrupted. Most of the time (99%), you can still retrieve your data when attaching your hard drive as a secondary on another PC. After that you can fix your Windows or do a full system recovery. | |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Data Recovery Thanks for all the adivce everyone Greatly appreciated. I have since gotten a UPS, some file recovery software (although it doesn't work very well ) and I plan on using my ipod to store backups until I decide on which external harddrive to get. Quote:
