What laptop should I buy

hi guy's,

I'm planning of buying a new laptop. I have a sony vaio 15'4" FS115B at the moment and it's getting a bit older.

I have a shortlist, namely 1 laptop: new macbook, the black one
intel dual core, 2gig, 250 gig HDD, 2.4 Ghz processor, 13'3" screen.

I want a smaller laptop, 14.1 tops, and I don't like vista very much, so at the moment, this is the best I can find IMO, especially at that price.

But if any of yo guys can give me a tip, or personal experience and reviews or something, please do, much appreciated

Re: What laptop should I buy

I won't help you a lot, I have an entry-level Toshiba with Vista, 1GB Ram, 120GO HD, Pentium Dual-Core.
My XP-laptop has ended its life 8 months ago, I had to change it before going to Germany...

Vista is extremely stable, much more than XP, no bugs so far.
However Vista is quite heavy...my laptop needs 15secs to open Words... Nearly 2 min 30 to boot... It's quite slow whatever you do.

The only really good thing it has over XP, is the quick research. Like Macs I think, it searches when you type and when you have finished typing it's already found. For the rest, Vista looks cool but that's all.

So, more stable, quick search, but heavy and slow. With a more powerful laptop, I think Vista can be quite pleasant. With Firefox and the improved safety in Vista you are not very lmikely to get a virus...

I only tried Mac a few times, and I wasn't very impressed. And I don't like the image it has.
And of course I paid less than half the price for my laptop, and that was the decisive point!
