Re: THE Anti-virus/firewall/anti-spyware/anti-adware/anti-malware THREAD

I am using Antivir in a PC we have at work and NOD32 at home. Both are superb.
NOD32 has a spyware protection so need for ad-aware or spybot.

Norton steal a lot of power from the computer, can make the computer slow etc etc.
Giannis if you pay for antivirus programs choose NOD32 next time.

I believe that it has real time. Anyway after using it i never found spyware programs in my PC.

I 'm also using Firefox.

Norton is overated. My brother had Norton Security and his PC took ages to run a program cause Norton took all the memory.

Re: THE Anti-virus/firewall/anti-spyware/anti-adware/anti-malware THREAD

Things start becoming limited when you start using Vista .

I'm actually using NIS2007 (norton internet security 2007) on my vista machine. Its actually quite good. Has one of the best Firewalls out there. I would never recommend NIS2006, as its a system hog, but 90% of 2007 was rewritten, so its quite a bit better.

My Windows XP Machine uses Zonealarm IS 7.0. I was using nod32 as my antivirus component, but Zonealarm 7.0 uses the Kaspersky Antivirus component, which is again one of the best out there.

My Linux machine doesn't use anything, aside from IPTables that comes with the linux distribution. I mean who makes Linux viruses anyway?

Ι had used Kaspersky Antivirus a couple of years ago and in the first couple of days two trojan horses entered my PC!!!

Needless to say that i uninstalled it immediately.
