Blog Entries: 2 | Re: Car&Driver: CLS 63 AMG Thanks dude! +1 I was just comparing the acceleration figures to the E55 they tested in May. It hits 0-60 in 4.3, 0-100 in 9.9 and 0-150 in 24.1 seconds. Desprite the lost in torque, the small weight decrease (15kg) and the engine's new high revving set up the CLS63 keeps up and then claws by the 5.4 litre E55. |

| Re: Car&Driver: CLS 63 AMG I've said this many times before but I am almost positive that the main improvement of the '63 AMG models over the '55s is HANDLING. ![]() |

| Re: Car&Driver: CLS 63 AMG This is quit interesting. I guess the advantage of the 7-speed starts to kick in past 150mph. I knew the CLS63 would be a hair faster anyway. I guess the is the last generation of the 4.0+ second E and CLS AMG models. The Bi-Turbo versions will be even faster!?? the hi 3s maby! Hay Just_me, you should post this on MBworld, I wonder what the reaction would be. ![]() |

1. That the CLS63 proved in this test to be a tick faster their their vaunted CLS55s. 2. That the CLS63 isn't able to outright slaughter their CLS55s in a straight line. They feel that it and the E63 also don't warrant them trading in their cars. These two reasons alone signify that a lot of them are just plain nuts. 3. They don't want or get that the CLS63 is the more accomplished car because it actually handles better and is more refined, and they won't ever admit that it sounds better than the CLS55 did. The CLS55 from everything I've seen and heard (heard it myself a few times) is more Nascar, and the "63" cars are more F1 than Nascar in sound, according to those who have heard both side by side. There are a lot of reasons, but these are the main ones going by what I read over there. M | |
