If i'm not mistaken, what's Individual by BMW is Designo by MB. If so, then you know what does it mean.

Designo is an individualization option on all Mercedes (A and B-Class as well) that allows customers to individualize and style their Mercedes to their personal tastes. Customers can select a wide range of different exterior colors or various colored leathers for the interior. They can have wood replaced with brushed aluminum or a different wood for example.

don't get me wrong, but I think that is just another way to rip us off, for such a high base price that should be for free

Don't ever think that you'll get something from Individual or Designo for free...

If it was free then designo exterior and leather colour wouldn't be exclusive. Though some of the designo options are really expensive. Certain leather colours might set you back as much as 10k. Porsche also has a similar program with equally as high prices.

On all models, A to S-Class, ML to GL etc. Not sure about the private buyer version of the Viano though.

It's not exactly a rip off. There are people out there that want to style and customize their car according to their tastes. For them, the standard Mercedes leather and color offerings don't work so they're willing to pay for Designo. Besides, no one is forcing them to do this. They're willing to pay, or for them, money is no object.

If You live here , you would understand my point, here, even in S class you will get as less as it possible of standard equipment, from the other side in USA car is 40% cheaper + loaded with equipment, not to mention better warranty......

Americans expect that, it's a different market, different cultures. Here in Europe, buyers are more wary of what is in cars. A lot of people here don't want something that Americans take for granted.

Best example, not many Europeans want electric seats in their E-Class, hence it is an option. In America, this would never fly, it has to be offered.
