| Re: [scans]: EVO drive CLK 63 What month is this issue? Is this the same issue with the CLS/Quattroporte comparo in it??? Sounds like they want want a racecar and that 9/10 folks would be completely satisfied with this car. Still though 4 1/2 stars is a good showing for a Benz at EVO. | Re: [scans]: EVO drive CLK 63 One thing I've noticed lately is that Mercedes, Audi and BMW in that order have had a lock on all the new car buzz over the last few months. I mean there is a new Benz in every issue of most publications every month now and BMW is right there along with Audi in a lot of them. It is a great time for German car fans for real. M |

Yes, until the AMG comes out with a manual gearbox and are willing to give up some of that autobahn cruising comfort in their cars, magazines like EVO will always find that there is "something missing" when pushing at the limits. I've said this before, and I'll say it again: this is a bit irrelevant because these cars will rarely ever be put to their handling limits on everyday roads. Even on a track, most drivers aren't skilled enough to take these cars to the limits safely. | |

| Re: [scans]: EVO drive CLK 63 They seemed to really like the car, apart from some small parts! I agree with them that the M division need to improve their breaks, I have heard a lot of people say that fade easily! This car looks awesome, one of my favourite looking cars at the moment! |

| Re: [scans]: EVO drive CLK 63 Its funny because most BMW fans are always so adamant that the M-cars will run rings around an AMG on the track because thats what they have been designed to do as opposed to AMG's focus on real world comfort/dynamic compromise. So why should the brakes on the BMW's fade so easily? They are after all supposed to be a drivers car. Good job to MB on the CLK. It really must be close to perfect for road use. Shame im sooooo bored with the CLK's looks. |
