Why? Doesn't this car replace the CLK55 in Europe? No need to make it look like the DTM, that was a one off hold on to your balls car. The CLK63 even though is probably fast is still a GT at heart and doesn't need to pose as something it's not.
Now if AMG makes a sport model like they did with the SLK, that would be hella schweet.

Re: EVO CLK63 AMG review

any real car nut would have registered that I'm speaking of mechanical bits, such as the suspension which helped the CLK DTM become the best steering MB, ever. Could care less about the wings amongst many other things protruding out the body of the CLK DTM making their way to the CLK63, that's not what the CLK63 is for.

Re: EVO CLK63 AMG review

Like I said before the CLK is a GT at heart adding a steering system like the one found in the DTM would give more information as far as were the wheels are pointed. At the same time it would make the drive more exhausting. Suspension, well, they have ABC which I think was never available for the 55, that should help it handle better without having to modify the rear to take the bespoked DTM subframe.

Battle of the Leo's contiunes:

You're thworing in a bunch of numbers into an equation that doesn't event exsist. First off, there's no ABC in the CLK, or 63, the car is much too simple for such electronic trickery. Second, who said anything about a CLK DTM chassis bits??? We're only talking suspension geometery. A simple front and rear suspensin upgrade wouldn't require much a modification to the exsisting setup since it's relatively the same car to begin w/.

Jus went to the website> you're right I'm wrong. A pointless debate for me though, I really dont like this car, looks aside it has nothing to offer a hardcore driving enthusiast. The CLK63 AMG is the seal, the E92 M3 is the Great White that lies below its' all assuming victim. Munch.

Re: EVO CLK63 AMG review

I`m going to hold off my final judgements on the CLK63 until we get a road test of this car with some solid numbers. This is nothing more than a preview,
Thay didn`t even give test numbers. Not a good way to make a final judgement imo.

Re: EVO CLK63 AMG review

Autoweek has an article about the CLK63 and the new V8 and they say the CLK63 does not have ABC, but the AMG website says it does. Somwhere along the line the communication got messed up.

Re: EVO CLK63 AMG review

I read the Autoweek review as well, then bum-man informed me that ABC is indeed a feature on the CLK63, went and checked the AMG site which verified bum's info.

It seems to me that most here misunderstand the meaning of hardcore driving enthusiast ... Deutsch , the CLK 63 is not a 500 , it's a performance model , hig revving+large displacement , sensationally quick gear box and it's a DSG ..... You can controll the gearbox with that AMG manual mode , AMG suspension , new AMG brakes all arround ....... Body balance steering feel and handling in this car is amazing , plus ESP can be completely switched off ..........

Now tell me what's not so hardcore driving enthusiast about this masterpiece ??
