Re: Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG

MB spanks the new RS4 and maby the new M3 in power fugures with this new
engine. I just wonder will MB present a C63 with the present C-Class.

Personally, I would rather them develop a ~4.7L V6 from the 'know how' they have after designing the 63.

While that would be fun, I want AMG to work on developing a more complete package as opposed to shoving a huge V8 under the hood and hoping for the best.

bum-man, you're idea would be pretty cool but from marketing standpoint no one wants a V6 when everyone else has a V8. People want their engine to have more of everything. People are so shallow!

I just read a little about the performance upgrades on the CLK63
Still waiting in the press info. I would expect upgrades on the C-Class as well
if MB decided to give the idea the green light. Thay seem to be getting their
act together with these AMG models.

Thats true. Btw I remember reading about AMG wanting to develope a V10
but thay decided to drop the idea because a V10 wouldn`t fit in all the models. Thay wanted one engine to fit in every AMG model. The M156 works
well with this idea in mind.

E46 M3's sold better than C55s (right?). SO if you can produce one hell of a 6 cylinder than go for it. People are more interested in engine specs overy quantity of cylinders (right?)

I wouldn't say that was the whole story. People who buy these kinds of cars must know a little about cars, knowing that the M3 is a far better car than the C55, I think!

Anyone ready to place best on the CLK63 vs, the E92 M3? Wouldn't be fair or really worth while considering the latter is even out for another year or so, but the thought really gets the brain revving. I'm really really liking the CLK63 AMG, I know the price tag will be devastating none the less, even compared to that of the E92 M3 once it arrives. Time to start studying..... harder.

Re: Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG

if the M3 gets around 420hp i cant see it being faster in a straight line..it really has to be light weight.. and have like a super fast gearbox..
But around a track it will surely be faster.. if not.. i will be very shocked..
