The front is very MB-ish while the side and rear has classic and sexy lines giving the car a slightly British/noble appearence. Which I think is ver important if the car is too attract the people who adore the DB9 and Bentley CGT. As with every new Benz I'm standing by waiting for pictures of it in black with AMG styling. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: New CL class. First official photos. Here are some comments from another website 1. I'll let everyone else lambast this car, but theres one detail that irks me. Check out the hood, namely the grill area. Notice the break right half-way through the grill? Yup, the hood no longer takes the grill with it. Maybe thats better on a cost front, and just maybe they can make it safer for pedestrian impact... but it just screams Cheap! 2. Oh god that is awful, what were they thinking? P.S. Check out the side profile shot...this thing is a boat! 3. The CL600 and V12 badges are clearly visible in the photos of that same car, so that's how tame the V12 non-Amg version will look, at least. 4. wow, now that i real competition to the bmw 6 series, since they both are ugly... not sure which one win in that matter though. but front end isnt as bad as rear end, and hopefully performance will make up for its look. 5. This car looks as though it is bending in the middle. Not a very attractive design, that is just my opinion and what do I know. Maybe it needs a caption that says, "I'm melting, I'm melting". 6. Ever picked a fat little puppy up and watched it sag on both ends? Well a fat little puppy was the inspiration for this car, a fat little german whimperrimper. 7. I hate those wheels. They show up on all of Mercedes' big cars now. 8. i like it, but the headlights are defintely from the 6 series 9. You guys above are shallow ignorant fools! Typical response like: ugly, looks like this, looks like that! Even worse, commands like they copied Toyota will show up sooner or later. What a whole bunch of morons! Did you guys graduated from fine arts school? How can you judge a design based on small pictures like that? Of course the car looks like it was sagging on both ends. Might it be due to distortion on you CRT monitor? Without trained eyes, why don’t you guys reserve your judgment until you see the actual car in real life 3D and study the surface development, the proportion, highlight flow, the stand of the car, etc, etc. Only if you morons know what I’m talking about. I totally agree with the last poster -- this is certainly not an ugly car, it's one of Mercedes best looking cars for several years IMO. |
