In the press info it says that the CL500 will cost 150k though I don't remember if the prices includes tax. I don't even want to start speculating on the price of the CL65.

Re: New CL class. First official photos.

Mb has really set the CL in a class of its own in terms of price. I doubt that I'll ever see a Cl600 here in Sweden. I hope that the info which is out so far is false or something. I think I want to to go back to sleep.

Re: New CL class. First official photos.

Yes but this market segment has become more crowded than when the last CL was debuted -- this thing is going head-to-head with the Bentley Continental GT and Ferrari 612 Scaglietti -- and don't forget that Porsche is talking about a new 928. The CL is once again at the pinnacle of the auto world.

Re: New CL class. First official photos.

I'm quite impressed now that I've seen more.

Nonetheless, I can see subtle references from the Phaeton. It's in the front stance as well as the mid-level wood trim in the interior - it's part of the extended wood package on the Phaeton, and I don't think you would have found it in any car before CL:

That said, I think this is what we should expect from a flagship Coupe. We can only expect the very best from Mercedes, especially if its restricted only in 500/600 variants. And that's a lot of money for the CL - you get your money's worth, maybe a little less, in my opinion.

Re: New CL class. First official photos.

I absolutely agree Mirage77, the Phaeton has a first-class interior ...and still has the finest leather upholstery in the industry IMO. There are most definitely some subtle influences from VAG in the new S class and CL interior designs.

Re: New CL class. First official photos.

I have a feeling that MB is trying to put their car when they were in the same league as RR and Bentley.
