Re: 2007 CL Class Thread 2 continued.

You can see quite clearly in these photographs that the roofline of the current model (C215) has remained largely unchanged.

Here is a very quick and extremely rough PS just to show the roofline is all good .

Re: 2007 CL Class Thread 2 continued.

Well, now i can definitely say that i'm very disappointed 'cause obviously the new CL is going to have very ugly rear... Just like the new S.

FU, MB, FU!

Re: 2007 CL Class Thread 2 continued.

This photos highlights what worries me about this design:

It is too droopy. The side profile is one of the best parts of the current CL. The car sags too much and doesn't have that kicked up stance at the rear like the current CL.

However, I won't write it off until I'm standing next to it at the local dealer sometime next year.

Mercedes has been fooling us for some time now with terrible looking spy shots, only to reveal a good looking car when the wraps come off.

Re: 2007 CL Class Thread 2 continued.

NO, no - don't be too concerned - I'm almost certain it will look quite similar to the SLK (crossed with the S) - and that is not a bad thing, the SLK looks fantastic

Re: 2007 CL Class Thread 2 continued.

Judging by those photos, I don't think CL will look as good as the current generation.

Re: 2007 CL Class Thread 2 continued.

I'm still very hopeful, especially seeing this photo above.
If you look carefully, you'll see that it will have a flank that is similiar to the characteristic lines of the CLS.
So it most probably will have the sleek appearance of the CLS which most of us love but with a longer flank.
That will probably make this car. That and together with the wheelarches from the S-class which I think it'll look great on a large coupe.
