Re: Sport Auto Supertest - Cayman S

I'm happy with the results. The Cayman is a handling monster with more potential then any other car around. A Cayman with around 380hp would blow all car south of 911TT off the roads.

Just as in the Z4 M roadster vs. M Coupe case.
The coupe versions seem a bit slower, or at least don't have that edge we've expected.

Have you thought maybe a testing conditions were different? Eg. more in favour of Z4 M Roadster?

The only credible results would be all cars in comparison tested on a same day - in 100% same conditions (same air temperature, same track temperature, same humidity, same weather, same driver, comparable tires, similar milage, similar equippment, etc).

Otherwise all the data are worthless - and can hardly be used for correct comparison.

Btw, M Coupe has the edge over M Roadster.

which you know is impoosible if you check sportautos cars they been testing through the years. Sportautos database is the most fair database we have since they ALWAYS use the same driver, besides they also tell us hot or cold the weather is , celcius on road and air and so on. Of course it can never be 100% correct since all cars are never tested the same day but at least this is the closest we get.

Nice said. And that's why it's hard to make any conclusions: eg. M Coupe is slower than M Roadster, etc. Which in real life is not the case, since all BMW factory tests showed the opposite. Same case with other duels: Cayman vs Boxster, TT coupe vs TT roadster, etc.

I agree, which isn't exactly a bad thing, but i expected the Cayman S to be faster on the Nurburgring and at least the 36 metre slalom, especially considering it's increased structual ridgity.
