![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 2010 Porsche Cayenne 2010 Porsche Cayenne looks less like an SUV and more like a Porsche ![]() There's a refresh on the way for the 2008 Porsche Cayenne, but with our latest photo illustrations you can see what's in store for the full redesign expected in 2010. The drawings were penned after consulting with sources close to Porsche's Weissach design center. The 2010 Porsche Cayenne will be the first full redesign of the surprisingly popular German sport-utility and, according to our sources, the styling direction will lean toward a sleeker, less utilitarian shape. To get that look, the next-generation Cayenne will feature a more steeply raked windshield, shorter greenhouse and blacked-out B- and C-pillars. The rear end will look more like Infiniti's FX45 sport-ute thanks to gentle curves in place of the current Cayenne's heavy-looking, upright D-pillars. Passenger space inside won't increase much, but Porsche has to make sure this Cayenne offers some kind of packaging advantage over the Panamera sedan that will debut in 2009. Although the Panamera is expected to be a low slung 4-door "coupe," it will use the same engines as the Cayenne and may very well offer all-wheel drive as well. The Cayenne's higher seating position and extra cargo room might still draw SUV lovers, but it will no longer be the only Porsche for those looking for a more spacious 911. ![]() Source: Edmunds |

Anyhow the current model will probably be a bit less of an off roader since the majority of the Cayennes never bites the dust. Since it is unlikely that Porsche will would a panamera station wagon the new cayenne will act as a "panamera-estate".

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: 2010 Porsche Cayenne Future will bring a completely new vehicle segment: a SAC segment. SAC = Sport Activity Coupe. SAC is a crossover between a SAV and a coupe sports car. Much lower than current SAVs, but still quite high seating position compared to regular cars / sport coupes. SAC appearance will be very coupeish, very sporty compared to SAVs. BMW are working on their interpretation of SAC which will come out as X6 in 2008 (also smaller X4 is possible later in the future). Porsche Cayenne Mk2 will follow the SAC formula, not the SAV one anymore - since the SAC fits better in the Porsche portfolio than regular SAV. Also the next Infiniti FX will be even more coupeish, and will fit SAC segment perfectly. Also other brands are moving towards SAC segment rapidly: remember the original VW Concept A show car? And Hyundai HCD-9 Talus concept? Also there are rumours MB are working on their SAC interpretation (MLC or GLC perhaps?). Not to mention Audi have already registered the Q6 name in Germany. |

Audi has the Q5 in the pipe line and it isn't that unlikely that Porsche will build their own Q5 look-a-like.
