Which camera is better?

I'm looking to buy a camera next week. And i don't know which one to buy

I cant say which one is the best but I have a IXUS 55 and its works very good for me. Im just an amateurphotographer so it works fine for my needs.

I also have a good camera but not a digital one so I'm looking for a new digital camera.

I heard that canon has best photo camera because of their good lens and Sony has best video camera

My guess would be that the Canon is the better one.

Sony quality is 10.1 MP and Canon quality is 6.0MP and this Sony camera is new in the market but i don't know why most people prefer canon

Both are very good, but I would certainly choose the Sony -- it beats the Canon in all the critical areas. It also has a Zeiss lens -- they don't get better than that.

Same here, Canon is a brand you can trust but Sony does produce damn good cameras aswell. The best thing to do it to read reviews and get to know the pros and cons of the respective camera.
Buying a camera isn't like buying a laptop. The specs don't tell the truth.
