CF Readers

As you all know I have been shooting photographs for some time now. Nevertheless, I have always used the USB connector between my camera and the computer in order to transfer the pictures. As many of you know this is a pain. So, I have decided to purchase a CF reader. However, I don't know a lot about them and I am worried that I may purchase something that might not work properly.

So, I am curious to know if any of you guys have any recommendations?

I was looking at this:

But don't know if it is worth it. Should I look at a particular brand? I have lexar, transcend and Sandisk CD cards. Does it matter what I buy as a reader? What is the best brand for the best price?

Re: CF Readers

I bought the cheapest card reader I could find, and it has worked perfectly. I'm sure that if you buy Sandisk or any other brand name reader you needn't worry a bit. What brand your CF cards are shouldn't matter at all, either.

Canon M30 storage - SLR accessory
The Canon M30 are also expected to be popular with the increasing body of every-day photographers looking for new ways to store and display favourite shots and extend storage capacity whilst away from the computer. “This is the EOS accessory many Canon professionals have been asking us for,” said Mogens Jensen, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging Europe. “As well as extending pro photographer back-up and storage capacity, there is no doubt the Canon M30 will appeal to amateur photographers looking for more flexible, enjoyable and portable alternatives to the traditional photo album."

Canon M30 back up - Reliability and security
Designed for professional use, the Canon media storage M30 is robust, reliable and secure. The 1.8-inch HDD is chosen for its stability and superior protection features and both units are protected with a tough, rugged magnesium alloy outer casing. To avoid corruption, files are validated during upload from memory card. To prevent unauthorised access, images and other files can be protected with an up to 8 digit password.

Re: CF Readers

I have one in my PCI slot, and on another computer, one in the floppy drive slot, both work perfectly fine, and much faster than transferring pictures through the camera!
