The Nikon D200 that I own is an incredible camera. Maybe I am just not having luck with my favorite camera. This is the second time I send it in for service. This time around Nikon is paying for the shipping since I was almost positive that sending it in would not solve the problem.

The camera with a fully charged battery will die on me for no apparent reason. It does this randomly, and by turning it off and turning it back on it will solve the problem only until it does it again. It has been frustrating because I paid a lot of money for this camera for this to happen to me. I am somewhat disappointed in Nikon and somewhat am holding it in trying to stick with what I love (Nikon).

I guess I am venting and hoping for the best. She will be on her way back to Nikon tomorrow and hopefully things will be cleared up and fixed so that I can continue shooting once again.

Here I go again without a camera for a few weeks. Funny, I just started participating in the comps again and now....

Thanks guys. I truly hope I get into good luck gear and get it back without the problem. If not, I will have to call Nikon and HOPE TO GOD!!! that they listen to me whine and give me a new camera--which I doubt. If that doesn't work then I will most definitely sell it and think about a new camera

lol! That is a good camera, but I am truly falling in love with the Mark III. I just hope I don't get into a position to go after that camera because I may have to pay a bundle...

Alright, well the camera finally came back and on the first outting I encountered the problem. What is going on is that the problem cannot be duplicated. It does it randomly. So, I called Nikon Support, which have been very nice with me, and this time they are once again paying for the shipping but overnighting it and having management take a look. I hope they send me another D200 in place of this one because I really cannot take this crap anymore. I love Nikon and all, but the particular D200 I have is not a good product. I need a new one. Just updating you guys.

If it was a mobile phone, you would probobly have gotten a better one by now, at least that's how it is in Sweden. Hopefully Nikon will give you a brand new D200 and a new lens for compensation for all the trouble. Or a D2X or something.
