However, I am more than certain it will look a whole lot better in real life. I remember when I first saw pictures of the VW Passat I hated it -- it has the same problem with "small wheels syndrome" -- but you don't really notice it when it is on the street. | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Edmunds: C63 Driven I agree with Rob. Yet I'm sure proportions look right IRL. What bothers me is the ricey & cartoonish look. Especially the front. OK, I except that looks OK for a Lexus (duh!) , and even for a BMW in their current design era. But ricey Benz? No, no, no ... All the classiness is gone, sorry. Even worse: beside that the car looks old. Not modern at all (hehe, at least that is true "Benz-ish" quality). Overdone details without composition. Lines are everywhere, everything is too busy. Those thick bulbous creases look so 90s. Look at the pics above - I can't go over it. Yes, the car looks extremely imposing & aggressive, but definitely not modern & classy. Weird. It is out of place. At BMW you have seen a complete design shift - so the design philosophy changed & all the cars follow that philosophy & design path. While here in C63 case ... I don't know. MB completely lost it. I'm not saying the car is ugly. Not at all. I'm just saying it looks weird from MB perspective. I'm confused by MB design philosophy lately. Even better: confused by absence of MB's design philosophy. They are designing in a vacuum. Without any proper context. Being lost somewhere. Without any proper vision. At least Ocean Drive hints a bit "new" cues: yet when arrives those elements will be old already - from the beginning of this decade. I'm sure C63 is an exceptional performer. In some aspects evn better than M3. Yet I can see it competing with IS-F for a "#1 ricer" design award, while eg. M3 & I dare to say the next RS4 even more will look more classy. And M3 still light years more modern than any other. While all of above mentioned cars look aggressive - in their own way. Based on looks (pics) my preferences are (all look aggressive): M3 - modern, coherent design RS4 - classy, simple design IS-F - original "ricey", overdone design C63 - ????? W.T.F!!!??? |

![]() ![]() | Re: Edmunds: C63 Driven I like it, I always liked the exterior on the C-class with the AMG package; However, the front is to busy, too many creases, holes and stuff going on there. |

![]() | Re: Edmunds: C63 Driven when none of you have seen the C63 in real life,i dont see how u can say it looks tacky.it will look very different in real life.Lot more proportional and meaner.Even the CLS looks bad in pics but is a different story on the road.here in a pic we see the whole car but on the road we see each profile individually and hence it looks better. IMO the M3 will be a little better to drive if at all and i dont think it can match the C in a straight line. Not enough to justify it as a better car. |

![]() | Re: Edmunds: C63 Driven I think MB AMG have purposely gone for this aggressive an look, not only to steal the thunder from the M3 but to positively put the IS-F with the boy racer kit into its grave. Also does this car have an AMG lap timer ?,because this is the one that needs it the most among AMG's. |
