Thumbs up Mercedes C-Class Sells Like Hot Cakes!

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is hot news. Most people would consider it a hot car. And now the consumers have put their money where there mouth is.

Last weekend, the new C-Class went on sale, and an astounding 470.000 people all over Western Europe went to their local dealership to check the car out (and some went for the new smart fortwo), resulting in 75.000 orders! And that with only 7.000 testdrives... think I missed the subliminal messages advertising campaign.

Dr. Klaus Maier from the Marketing and Sales department: “We are extremely delighted with the successful launch of the two new products and the very positive response from our customers.”

Nothing odd really, its a brand new C-class and one of the cheapest Benzes so no surprise to me. New C-class was born to succeed

I've checked many German blogs & forums - the reactions of people who had checked the car in the showrooms:

exterior design is praised, interior criticized as too spartan & cheap looking.

Some even decided to wait what Audi would offer with new A4.

But in general the public is pleased with the car.

Also: the Germans are thrilled with recent BMW EfficientDynamics solutions, and I'm sure this will be a huge advantage, huge selling point for BMW vehicles till the competitors catch up.

Im also surfing lot of carboards and the steering wheel seem to be the biggest problem for people. Exterior wise, many people like.

I am thinking along the same line. Seems like MB is getting into a tradition of really tidy-ing up the lines and features in their Mk II of the model.
