![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Mercedes-Benz C400 Biturbo (W204)? I would reckon they should go with a lighter, smaller twin-turbocharged engine for the AMG version. A 4.0 V6 Twin-Turbo with 460 Bhp with two mini turbos for each three cylinders (just like in the BMW 335i) would do fine, because there would not be any turbo-lag at all and the weight at the front would be a whole lighter than a big V8 shoehorned under the bonnet. Besides, smaller Turbocharged engines are new trend from now on; because they are more powerful and yet they are more economical and pollute less than a bigger normally aspirated engine. Expect to see the return of the Golf GTI 1.6 with 4 mini turbos for each pair of cylinders producing 400 Bhp. |

![]() ![]() | Re: Mercedes-Benz C400 Biturbo (W204)? It mentions something about TFSI 333PS, what is that all about Christian? And wow a C400 4-matic?! That would be able to take on a RS4 in acceleration! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Mercedes-Benz C400 Biturbo (W204)? Btw, AutoBild also reported few weeks ago Aston Martin was sold to LVMH Group. ![]() The C400 performance numbers are odd. Why? A non AMG car below 4sec? C'mon! And a C-class! A sedan! C'mon! What then the AMG cars? Or even AMG coupes? C'mon, SLR does in 3.8sec! So if C400 does 0-100kmh in 4sec. Will the C AMG do it below 4sec? Thats then in SLR range!!! C AMG in SLR range??? ***** But V6 bi-turbo 4.0L 400+HP engine seems possible - but not to take on 335i, but as a substitute to 388HP V8 engine (eg. instead of CLK500). It will be in a different price segment than 335i. ***** Regarding BMW N54 engine: why do you think BMW went turbo? Greater performance, less fuel consumption, lighter engine, and easier up-tuning. 306PS was a marketing decided output - this baby is capable of much more. And BMW is already technologically upgrading the engine - also due the stiff competition from Audi & MB. So expect BMW to boost N54 output soon. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Mercedes-Benz C400 Biturbo (W204)? ^fun for those who just got their 335´s.. upgrade so soon obviously that 4s figure is supposed to be 5s so dont put any more weight on that There is no V8 in the C class..so it wont replace anything and it wont replace the 500 as the 500 is a classic MB engine..and a fairly new one at that..so it should get a bost if this comes along and the price class?? well MB´s are always more expenisve it wont be doubble the price of the 335 that is just nutts.. that like 80K euro then.. im guessing around 50-55K euro.. that is approx 10-15 K more than the 335... i would pay that for 100hp more ,,and most likely a shit load of more torque.. ![]() |
