| Bugatti Italian born Ettore Bugatti produced his first car in 1899 at the age of 19. In 1909 he started his factory in Molsheim, Alsace. Bugattis were known for their advanced engineering in their premium road cars. The company's success culminated with driver Jean-Pierre Wimille winning the 24 hours of Le Mans twice (in 1937 with Robert Benoist and 1939 with Pierre Veyron). Volkswagen AG purchased the rights to produce cars under the Bugatti marque in 1998. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Veyrons selling like hotcakes in US. The Detroit sales total compares favorably with high-income hotbeds like California's Silicon Valley. Bugatti has taken orders for a mere 30 Veyrons in the entire United States, Bugatti Troy sales manager Matthew Vazana said. Bugatti has nine dealers in the United States. Three of the buyers live in Michigan and one in Toronto. Powered by a 16-cylinder turbocharged 8.0-liter engine, the Veyron reaches 60 m.p.h. in 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 253 m.p.h. Bugatti plans to build a mere 50 Veyrons a year and stop when the total reaches 300. Despite the astronomical price, Bugatti, which is owned by Volkswagen AG, reportedly loses money on every Veyron it sells. "There's never been a car like this, and there probably never will be again," Vazana said. Bugatti Troy expects to deliver its first car in October, and the dealership is working with three more potential local Veyron buyers. - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER (via German Car Blog) |

Although the car has an astronomical price tag there are thousands of people out there sitting on 50 million dollar bank accounts which means that it is very hard for car manufacturers to produce a car which is too expensive. The Veyron is really the car for the people who are really particular about their style and don't concider the CGT or even the Enzo to be exklusive enough. The Veyron is the ultimate symbol for supreme wealth. Quote:
