| Bugatti Italian born Ettore Bugatti produced his first car in 1899 at the age of 19. In 1909 he started his factory in Molsheim, Alsace. Bugattis were known for their advanced engineering in their premium road cars. The company's success culminated with driver Jean-Pierre Wimille winning the 24 hours of Le Mans twice (in 1937 with Robert Benoist and 1939 with Pierre Veyron). Volkswagen AG purchased the rights to produce cars under the Bugatti marque in 1998. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Bugatti delivers 60th Veyron Despite the conflict over expanding the model line-up and subsequent management change, sales of Bugatti's only model are exceeding expectations. By the end of February, Bugatti had delivered its 60th Veyron – total production of which is limited to 300 units – and has received 140 orders, each accompanied by a €300,000 down-payment. The super-premium automaker put on a brave face at Geneva so as not to let the kids know that mommy and daddy are fighting. The show stand featured a pair of Bugattis, past and present, both dressed up in traditional French racing blue and black: a new Veyron and a circa-1932 Type 55. The display was unfortunately more restricted than the Swiss naturalization process. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Bugatti delivers 60th Veyron I've love to see the list of owners so far. If VW is smart they'll pair up Bentley and Bugatti development. A new RWD sedan platform for them to share would be nice. Can you imagine the Veyron's engine/drivetrain in a sedan. Instantly kills any Bentley, Maybach or Rolls. Bentley would get the same chassis, but with different engines and of course a totally different look. VW knows how to do this, look at the R8 and Gallardo. M |
