![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Interview with Audis Product Planning Manager This is very good reading! - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER Example: We also need to prioritize the positioning, for example deciding which S-models we need. Do we need them all? Do we need them all with both transmissions? Does it mean that it comes with certain transmissions? Should DSG be the only transmission? Etc. Those are the things we are looking at. ![]() The whole history started around the S-model. The S-model was always thought to be the attainable performance model. We’ve done extremely well when you look at our mix with those S-models. We did extremely well with the old S8, the S6 Avant and the S4 and I think we’ll do well with the new cars that are coming out now. Why? It’s because they’re performance, but they’re still attainable. That’s what the message is of the S-brand. It’s an attainable sport variant. For those who want to have the absolute ultimate, we have the RS-model. We sort of bracket our competition. The RS Model is meant to showcase technology, to be very exclusive and to be what’s really thought of as ‘hand made’. When you think of handmade, you should think of the RS line. When you go to Neckarsulm and you look at the production line and how they build the RS 4 or the RS 6 before it, they’re nearly handmade. They build a certain portion of the car on the line, then it is pulled from line, bring it to another line and finishing up with some special touches on the car. That’s our S and RS strategy. |
