The meaning of "Audi"

I just noticed that here on the forum, it says "(Auto Union Deutschland Ingolstadt)." about Audi. That is incorrect.

Audi stands for "listen" in latin, since the founder was August Horsch, and "horsch" in German means "listen".

Just so you all know. That's where the Audi names comes from.

Few corrections:

The Audi founder was August Horch, not Horsch!

"horchen" means "to listen", while imperative "Horch!" indeed means "Listen!" as "Audi!" does in Latin.

But mind: the logo Audi is using now is an original logo of Auto-Union. The four rings of Audi represent the four companies of the Auto-Union consortium established in 1932 - DKW, Horch, Wanderer, and Audi. After the war the Audi name disappeared, but was revived in 1965, using the four rings as a logo.

I knew that the rings came from 4 companies coming together, but I have never seen the original Audi logo. Thanx!
