never thought I'd say this, but Audi has joined my small list of fav. car makes, along w/ Porsche and BMW. Good times. I'm coming to appreciate Audi's level of fine detailing, high tech and innovative engineering, robust quattro awd, extrodinarily attractive & original design, high quality and great reliability.

I've always liked Audis, every since the day of the 5000. They were always different from other cars. Audi does have a true edge in interior design and build quality for sure, but here in the U.S. reliability is very poor. I want Audi to make a rwd car just for once.

I don't think that wish for a RWD Audi will come true anytime soon. Quattro w/ an emphasis on majority torque distrubution to the rear is happening w/ newer cars. Also keep in mind that in the future Audi's cars will have their engines mounted further behind the frotn axle than where they are now(according to latest speculative info), starting w/ the new A4, due next year(08' has been said, but that means the current model will have been round for 7 yrs? Not sure if this is true to Audis ways of doing things?)

Yeah I know, but I'd like to see a RWD Audi just to see them really put the fear of god in BMW just for once.

Yeah Audis usually have longish production cycle, but most German cars go anywhere from 5-7 years anyway.

I don't think Audi will make a RWD cars unless it's a limited production super car or something similar. The main reason is because Audi shares the chassis of their models with Volkswagen. BMW and Mercedes are the last big manufacturers that use RWD at least in Europe. FWD is much more practical for most car buyers.
