![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Audi Wins Two World Car of the Year Awards! Audi took top honors in two other categories. The recently-redesigned TT was named World Car Design of the Year, out-polling both the Citroë n C4 Picasso and Fiat Grande Punto. "The previous car was an icon," said Johan de Nysschen, head of Audi operations in the U.S. , which made it extremely challenging to come up with a successor, but he declared the new model "true" to the original while being both "bold and modern." Meanwhile, Audi's compact muscle car, the RS4, was named World Performance Car, besting some stiff competitors, the BMW 335i and Porsche's newly-redesigned 911 Turbo. - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER M |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: RS4 named WORLD Car of the Year 2007 I think it was posted somewhere before. You mean the World Performance Car? - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER ![]() NEW YORK - A panel of renowned motoring journalists from 22 countries around the world has reached its verdict: the Audi RS 4 is the 2007 World Performance Car of the Year. The sports saloon from Audi beat off competition from 17 other candidates to take the title. The award was announced at the New York International Auto Show. According to the World Car of the Year jurors, the Audi RS 4 is "the virtual definition of a sports sedan". They praised the quattro permanent four wheel drive system, 420 hp engine and build quality that is "beyond reproach". The jurors also thought that the very best part of the Audi RS 4 was "the wonderful roar it emits when you put your right foot down". This is not the only award that the Audi RS 4 has received. Its blend of motorsport technology and everyday driving qualities has led to awards from "BBC Top Gear" magazine in Great Britain, "sport auto" magazine in Germany and "Motor" magazine in Australia. The Audi RS 4 features a high-revving 420 hp eight-cylinder engine with FSI technology, quattro permanent four wheel drive with 40/60 asymmetric/dynamic torque distribution and DRC (Dynamic Ride Control). It reaches the 60 mph mark in 4.8 seconds, and 125 mph 16.6 seconds. Top speed is limited electronically to 155 mph. The Audi A6 was the inaugural "World Car of the Year" in 2005 Anyway, this just shows how good Audi RS are nowadays. I just can't wait for the RS5 and RS6 ![]() |
