Audi targets sales of more than 100,000 units in China

BEIJING (AFX) - German luxury car maker Audi AG is targeting annual sales in China of more than 100,000 units over the next three to four years, the China Daily reported, citing Ralph Weyler, a board member responsible for sales and marketing.

The newspaper said the car maker's global sales are expected to reach one mln units by 2008 or 2009, with at least 100,000 of those in China.

Audi's sales in China will grow slightly this year from last year, Weyler said, without providing a specific estimate. Audi sold 64,018 cars in China in 2004.

Audi, part of the Volkswagen group, is expected to sell 820,000 vehicles globally this year.

In the first 10 months of this year, the car maker sold 41,108 vehicles in China, an increase of 1.2 pct from a year earlier.

Heh... An A6L is really wierd, especially with an elongated wheelbase in the normal version already.
