  | Spy Shots: 2009 Hyundai Tiburon Coupe  Hyundai’s next generation Tiburon Coupe was recently caught undergoing the final phases of its development program before hitting the international auto show circuit next year. The new coupe is said to mimic some of the lines of the HCD8 Sports Tourer concept, which debuted at the 2004 Detroit Auto Show, but the latest images reveal some of the proportions of the current model will carry over. The 09 Tiburon will ride on an all-new platform but the front-drive configuration is likely to stay, but with a range of more powerful four-cylinder and V6 engines. Hyundai is also rumored to be working on a new rear-wheel-drive coupe based on its upcoming Genesis sedan. Unlike the Tiburon, this new coupe would be a premium model aimed at luxury makes and is likely to feature a V8 powerplant. Hyundai is well on its way to reaching its goal of becoming one of the top five car makes in the world. It’s no longer regarded purely as a maker of cheap and unreliable cars and is now comparable with many of its more established rivals. A recent survey has found that Hyundai’s image has improved dramatically in recent times, with the South Korean carmaker’s brand ranking improving by 32%, something that will definitely help the new Tiburon.   |

| Re: Spy Shots: 2009 Hyundai Tiburon Coupe I want Hyundai to succeed if for no other reason than to put a hurting on Toyota by undercutting them with products of equal quality for less money. Toyota would get a massive does of their own medicine. This and that new RWD V8 sedan are going to cause some waves in the market. Hell if this coupe looks the part who knows who might be tempted to look into buying one. There would be no shame on my part for buying one for a daily driver while Ursla gets her rest until the weekends. M |

I really hope that isn't the interior the car will show up with in 2009, it looks so 90's Toyota or Nissan in design. The gearshift and cupholder could be out of anything Japanese. No originality at all. I guess its true you get what you pay for. M |
