"Hey, I'm just soo depressed right now!

After more than one year of savings I could finally afford a real beauty. My brand new Canon EOS 1Ds arrived yesterday. I really can't hold back my grand smile when using it, the picture quality is just wicked sick!

I took some nice photos and even got a cool idea to take a picture from inside the microwave oven. I set the timer on the camera, put it inside and took a picure but the result wasn't really that good - too dark. So I decided to set the oven to the lowest heat and turn it on so that the lamp inside it would light things up.

Just as I turn the oven on with the camera inside the lights on the camera start flashing like hell and within the minute the house reaked of burned battery. The camera immediatly turned out to be completely dead and I was devastated.

I had a four year insurance but it did not cover events like this. And Cyberphoto Ltd. where I ordered the camera responded me with: This is absolutely not covered by the insurance, how dumb are you to put a camera in the microwave oven.

Would apreciate if you guys could cheer me up a bit, I'm really depressed right now."

Should be remembered, this is a Swedish frum for 14 year old computer geeks who have nothing better to do than make up stupid stories, but this one is damn quite funny, true or not

Hey Va Va Voom, I never guessed you were 14 years old. Excellent!

This is what is so great about these forums, everyone can talk to each other without all the BS and discrimination age differences sometimes cause.

As for putting a camera in a microwave ....hmm, I know I wouldn't have done that even when I was 8.

I would have...

This reminds me of the old lady in the 80's who used to dry her pet POODLE using the lowest setting of her conventional oven.

She tried the same with the microwave... need I say more?

Well ...Animal cruety charges were pressed and then dropped due to senility

Yeah I enjoy these forums (CB and GCZ) because I don't get treated like a 14 (well nearly 15) year old I get treated normally so we can all just chat about cars and people putting poodles in microwaves

I remember hearing about that, but I always thought it was a cat and not a poodle. Anyway, I remember that the manual of a microwave oven my parents bought ~1990 actually said that live animals are not to be put in the microwave...
