The second picture, of a man in fire, can someone give me some more information on that? Who is he? Was he being tortued, executed, what?

damn.....that is some amazing control of body and mind. He must have been in utter and extreme pain before he passes out..... Or he was on some kind of drug (sounds more plausible)

Thanks for this excellent thread James. I have always considered Photojournalism to be the most valuable use of photography of all.

18 years on ....and it seems like the world has forgotten Tiananmen Square. The west has become too preoccupied with wanting trade deals with China to concern itself about the ongoing human rights abuses of the Chinese government.

I guess it's because with such a large population in China, such occurences when measured in per capita are not that substantial. Besides, when something happens continuously, people will tend to forget about it, no matter how grave or serious it is.
