What do you mean? Bigger lenses? Have you ever see the 300mm from Nikkor? I bet you haven't

Thanks Zonda, I knew you would be looking at this thread and posting.

Remember, Nikon is not that big in the pro sector and therefore there are not that many pictures of Nikon users in the pro industry. However, you do seem them out in the forest. I guess that is where they have been all along.

Re: Nikon in Action

Remember, I'm just a beginner in this field while you have years of experience and knowledge. And no, I haven't seen that lens. What I saw there is the most Nikon stuff that I've seen.
I guess I'm a bit Canon biased since I've never even touched a Nikon SLR while I've tried some really good Canon stuff. So I mostly have my eyes on Canon.

Would love to try a Nikon and see what I think but I don't know anyone who has one. Who knows, maybe I'm a Nikon man, but how would I know?

Relax--I am sure you are--I am not a freak. I love both companies. I am really in love with the new Mark III. I can't get over that damn camera. Right now I don't have to much invested with Nikon expected about 2,500 US. So, I could take the plunge and switch to Canon, but I am going to wait. I am happy with my D200 as it is and I would love to keep it for years to come.

You should try out a Nikon. The D200 is what I have and I love it. The D200 and D2X(s) are incredible in your hand.

I'll go to a photo store and see if I can hold them. And yeah, if one is not fascinated by the Mark III, I don't know what will.

Re: Nikon in Action

Well, the 1Ds is rumoured to have 26-30mp, but I doubt it will have 15fps

I think a Nikon holds the highest framerate with 13.5fps or something like that. But it doesn't have a mirror that flip up like a regular SLR. I think it has a semi transparent one instead. So 15 sounds indeed very impressive if someone achieves that

Interesting. Canon had a similar product you know? Rob mentioned it in the Canon Mark III thread.

Re: Nikon in Action

Oh I was slightly wrong, mixed things up a bit. Posted by Andy Wee at Dieselstation:

Quote:
canon made a 10FPS before.. it's EOS-1 RS.
it had a semi transparent mirror. so it means that when firing, the mirror doesnt flip up. no mirror movement..

i guess it's the same thing with this 1dMk3. same mechanism, how else would you get a "live preview" of what the viewfinder is seeing? right?

which made me come to think of something.. 1RS is the fastest camera made by canon. while F3 is the fastest camera made by nikon.. 12.5fps for F3

Edit: my bad.. it's F3h at 13.5fps
