It was designed by the British architect [Lord] Norman Foster - who is most likely the most revered architect in the world today. |

I remember seeing the making of the Viaduct on Discovery a while ago. It's neat how they used radical methods of building given the scale of the project. The toll is rather cool looking too. | |

Also his main staircase connecting the old building to the new,(the only way into and out of the new building), is so narrow that people coming and going have to form awkward impromptu lines in each direction. An absolutely horrid job of design that doesn't take into account, um, looking at art and getting into the building. I have never heard him called "the most revered"- before. He and Daniel Liebeskind are perhaps the most self-revered architects in a profession full of super-inflated egos. | |

I've seen the construction of this bridge on Discovery Channel... and boy oh boy is this ever impressive! I also like the fact that they build this bridge to be fancy or anything, it was to preserve the valley and its environment. ![]() |
