Excellent idea.

I've heard from people on other forums who've experienced it how awesome it was. On Imagestation I spoke to a guy who picked up his Mercedes CL600 in Stuttgart, participated in the program to a drive down to Italy and then back north to a German port city where his car was shipped across to the US. It was fascinating reading his review and the beautiful pictures he took.

You make me feel soooo special! Thanks!

Hey, Chris, while we are at it.... are there any wineries close by?

I'm thinking, a trip to pick up a car could include some sampling of the "regional products" too

No wineries here, but tons of Breweries.

Re: Classic Architecture

Here is a the magnificent Linderhof castle in Bavaria I really want to visit. Technically, it is not Classical architecture (in fact none of the buildings posted in this thread so far would technically be called Classical architecture), it is in a kind of 17th century French high-Baroque style ...even though it was built in the mid 19th century.

I love its elegant size, it is not huge ...but more like a small jewel in the Bavarian forest.

Have you been there Chris?

Thanks Bolidismo for your great post!

What a wonderful place to visit. Love the fountian

It's true, non of the postings refer to Classical ;
that's why we put Classic ( instead of Classical) "turn of last century and before"

Re: Classic Architecture

Here are some random photos from my place.

The old city walls which protected Mühldorf during the Medieval periods...

Directly behind ^this^ is the KORNKASTEN. During the old days this house was used to store grain over the winters...

The St. Nikolaus Church. The smaller church next to it has a memorial to all the men from Mühldorf who died in the Franco-Prussian war of 1870-1871, World War I 1914-1918 and World War II 1939-1945.

Local houses...

Stadtplatz at sundown...
